Class of 2025

Ankit Srivastava, D. O.

Ankit Srivastava, D.O.
Chief Resident
PGY-III
Nova Southeastern University-KPCOM

What has been your greatest achievement during residency?

  • Developing great relationships and rapport with clinic patients, colleagues, clinic, and hospital staff. Being able to manage patients within a full clinic schedule and helping patients to live a healthier lifestyle.

What sets PGH / NSU-KPCOM FM Residency Program apart from other family medicine residency programs?

  • The ability to really take ownership of the patients that we see and take care of and the autonomy that our attendings allow us to have. Also, the true family culture that we have fostered at this program where we can count on each other, bounce ideas off of each other, and grow with the other residents and attendings as people and doctors.

Why did you choose this program?

  • I chose this program because I rotated through the outpatient clinic during my third-year clinical rotations of medical school and the whole program took me in as one of their own. The pathology you see, the complexity of the patients day in and day out, and seeing how well this program prepared its residents for the outside world made this choice very easy.

Tell an interesting fact about yourself.

  • I like to bake desserts in my free time and bring the desserts to the hospital and clinic for the colleagues and staff to enjoy! I'm also an avid runner! Goal is to complete a full marathon! I also love Legos.

What has been your greatest achievement during residency?

  • I think my greatest achievement in residency has been treating patients on my own confidently. Throughout every step, I feel more and more confident with my patient plans and care.

What sets PGH / NSU-KPCOM FM Residency Program apart from other family medicine residency programs?

  • In our inpatient service you learn how to manage rare pathology that you typically wouldn't see in other hospitals. In our clinic, even though you are under supervision, you feel like you get plenty of autonomy. The attendings are great teachers and very understanding and my co-residents are my family.

Why did you choose this program?

  • I rotated at this hospital during my fourth year of medical school and loved the environment. All of the residents were so welcoming, and I felt like I was part of a family. I never felt pressured, and I could tell everyone was genuinely happy to be a part of this program.

Tell an interesting fact about yourself.

  • I love to do special effects makeup. Halloween is my favorite holiday because it’s the only time of year I can show off my skills!

What has been your greatest achievement during residency?

  • Being able to be happy and to have made such amazing long-lasting relationships with my coworkers.

What sets PGH / NSU-KPCOM FM Residency Program apart from other family medicine residency programs?

  • The residents, our awesome attendings, and our willingness to work with each other as well as to get to know each other at a personal level.

Why did you choose this program?

  • I chose this program because from the moment I worked at our clinic it felt like being home. Every resident, every attending was willing to teach, to listen, and to make every day special.

Tell an interesting fact about yourself.

  • I love to create my own cocktails and fancy meals.
