Palmetto General Hospital

Infectious Disease Fellowship

Mission Statement

The Palmetto General Hospital Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program is dedicated to the training of expert diagnosticians and clinicians in the culturally diverse, community setting of South Florida. We provide fellows with experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases in a variety of settings; knowledge of the implications of these diseases from a patient-specific and population/public health standpoint; and the development of expertise in the realms of hospital infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, microbiology, and diagnostic techniques.

Diversity in Recruitment and Selection: The Palmetto General Hospital Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program ensures diversity in recruitment, selection, and retention by accepting applicants through the ERAS program and by accepting applicants from within the Internal Medicine Program of Palmetto General Hospital. Miami serves a community with a wide range of diversity. We have achieved diversity in our training programs for the last several years. Our faculty, administrative personnel, nursing staff, etc., are all from a wide range of backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the community we serve.
